Center for active Seniors, located in Rutherford, NJ. The
right candidate will demonstrate proficiency with program development,
budget/finance experience as well as fund-raising expertise and grant-writing
knowledge.
The ED will provide professional leadership to the
staff, Board and Center, assess and address current needs, embrace the unique
needs of older adults and be a visionary to continuously enhance the Center’s
offerings. Bachelor degree/human services experience required.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Executive Director, 55 Kip Center, Inc. Purpose: To provide professional
leadership to the Staff, Board and Center by supervising the daily function of
the Center, collaborating with the Staff and Board to address current needs,
visioning and planning for future needs of older adults, and keeping focus on
the values of a vital aging center. Accountability: The Executive Director is
accountable for the Board of Directors of 55 Kip Center. Educational
Qualifications:
The Executive Director shall have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in human
services or a closely related helping profession. AED and CPR certification
will be required. Experience
Qualifications:
The Executive Director shall have a minimum of three years experience in
administration of a non-profit agency. Program development, budget and finance
and experience with fund-raising, grant writing, and reporting is required. Personal
Qualifications:
The Executive Director shall demonstrate initiative, sound judgement, sensitivity to older adults, dependability,
creativity, a capacity to assume and delegate responsibilities as well as the
ability to communicate orally and in writing. Responsibilities: The responsibilities of this
position include but are not limited to: To
understand the organizational structure of 55 Kip Center and implement the
policies and procedures as established by the Board of Directors. To
develop the center’s overall work plan in consultation with the Board of
Directors. To
manage and administer the center’s operation and program. To
plan and develop programs in conjunction with appropriate staff and committees,
ensuring the involvement of older adults in the center’s planning and
operation. To
hire, evaluate, train, supervise and terminate staff at the Center in
concurrence with the Personnel Policies and Procedures. To
develop and execute the financial management and budgeting. To
work in collaboration with the Board of Directors to develop an annual funding
plan. To
develop proposals and negotiate contracts relating to 55 Kip Center in
consultation with the Board of Directors. To
establish and maintain liaisons with agencies/persons regarding the 55 Kip
Center. To
develop and maintain community relationships. To
review and report to the Board of Directors and others, as appropriate, on
program, operation, facility and equipment. To
attend regular meeting of the Board of Directors and to participate in
committees established by them.
Evaluation: Annual Performance Review by the
Personnel Committee will be held concurrent with Personnel Policies.
