Book Discussion

Monthly book discussion with Joan Valez, Assistant Director of the Rutherford Library. After a book is selected, copies may be picked up at the Library. Discussions are generally held at the Kip Center the 3rd Friday of each month.

Body Toning
Wednesday & Friday 10:00am

Combines stretch, strengthening and low-impact aerobic routines for a basic conditioning program. Bring an exercise mat or small rug or you can use the wall and chair to work abdominal muscles and legs. Instructor: Janette Large is a Certified Fitness Instructor with many years experience.

You can sign up for one day or both.

This exercise class is easy on the joints and offers strengthening and weight exercises, stretching and flexibility. One to three pound weights are recommended but they are not necessary. Dyna bands are provided for resistance exercises. Instructor: Peggy Letsche

Men's Fitness

Yoga offers a significant variety of proven health benefits. Improved coordination, posture, flexibility, range of motion and concentration are just a few examples. Stress Reduction
Tuesday 10-11:30

Incorporating an exercise called sitting meditation, this is a unique way to help people cope with stress, pain and chronic illness. This program is sensible and straightforward way for people to understand the mind/body connection firsthand and use it to enhance their lives. This is a 6 week program run by Dr. Kate Waldron from the Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center.


Line Dancing
Friday 1:30 - 2:30

Betty Agnello held a line dance demonstration in November and those in attendance wanted more. Betty has taught dancing for over 30 years and although she is now semi-retired, she has agreed to join us at the Kip Center to add line dance to our schedule. While this class is geared for beginners, everyone is welcome. Learn all the latest dances so you can kick up your heels on the dance floor at the next family gathering.

AARP - 55 Alive Driving Course
April 2nd & 5th from 10:00-3:00

Changes associated with aging; night vision, perceptual difficulties and slowed reaction time are some of the subjects that will be addressed in this 2 day course. You must have a current NJ license and attend both sessions to qualify for a reduction in your insurance premium. Instructor: Julius Cadenas, trained AARP instructor. Class size is limited so sign up early to ensure a spot.
